Q: Is Valentine Wealth Management a stock brokerage, a money management or a financial planning organization?
A: Wealth Management is defined as: A professional service which is the combination of financial/investment advice, accounting/tax services, and legal/estate planning typically for one fee. Generally speaking, wealth management is more than just investment advice, as it can encompass all parts of a person's financial life. Wealth management is a term being widely misused in the financial services community today. Simply because a broker or financial planner holds himself out as a Wealth Manager doesn’t make it so. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Q: What is the Valentine Wealth Management strategy?
A: We strive to achieve the goals set forth by our clients through the blending of a wide array of resources. Your management team will tailor an individual strategy designed to address your wealth preservation, comprehensive tax structuring, investment portfolio and wealth transference needs. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Q: Describe the insurance coverage my account would have and describe what is covered?
A: Your assets held at Pershing LLC enjoy unlimited coverage. Pershing LLC provides account protection for the net equity of your securities positions. Of that total, the securities investor protection corporation (SIPC) provides $500,000 of net equity protection, including $100,000 for claims for cash awaiting reinvestment (SIPC protection). Visit www.sipc.org for more information about SIPC. Pershing provides the additional protection (excess SIPC) through Customer Asset Protection Company (CAPCO), a licensed Vermont insurer. Remember, account protection applies when a SIPC member firm fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities clients, but it does not protect against losses from the rise and fall in the market value of investments and does not cover all assets. The above supplement account protection is in addition to the Securities Investor Protection Company (SIPC) coverage of $500,000 (cash claims limited to $100,000). Brokerage accounts are carried by Pershing LLC and are protected by the SIPC. Explanatory brochure available upon request or at www.sipc.org. Remember, this protection does not cover declines in the market value of securities. SIPC coverage and additional coverage provided by Pershing LLC do not apply to investment advice or financial planning services.
________________________________________________________________________________________ Q: How frequently can I expect client/firm communication?
A: All of our clients receive monthly account statements. Confirmations of all transactions are mailed within 3 business days directly to your address of record. You will also receive annual reports and proxy statements for each position you hold. In addition, you will receive year-end tax reporting (1099’s and 5498’s) forms.
We are happy to meet with our clients for periodic reviews of their portfolios, however, since this is a client-specific topic, we urge you to contact your Valentine Wealth Management representative to schedule an appointment that meets your lifestyle. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Q: Would Valentine Wealth Management use any product that would be difficult to transfer to another financial manager?
A: Since all assets are held in your name, you can transfer any stock or bond from our broker/dealer's clearing firm. We use no "in-house" proprietary products, therefore transfer of assets are not affected. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Q: How do I contact Valentine Wealth Management?
