Taking Charitable Giving One Step Further
by Genevieve Valentine

funds

Charitable giving has been a Valentine Capital initiative for years. We feel it is our responsibility to give back to the community. VCAM is actively involved with several charities, and with the creation of the Valentine Humanitarian Project, we have been able to help on a broader spectrum.

One of the charities we have been honored to sponsor is Indego Africa. This organization has been committed to a radical founding vision—to empower African women to deliver themselves out of poverty through market-based opportunities and education. Indego Africa has successfully been able to improve the lives of these women by increasing both their income and food security.

Recently, Indego Africa and its founder Matt Mitro have been working with the Harvard Business School to take the mission of Indego Africa one step further. In fact, one of Harvard Business School professors is conducting a study on Indego Africa for a case presentation to Harvard students this upcoming spring. Per the request of Matt Mitro and in our efforts to continue supporting Indego Africa, John Valentine has agreed to help in this upcoming Harvard case study. We are excited to participate and promote the ambitious and innovative model designed by Indego Africa to defeat poverty in our world.
